Full Narrative

On October 14, 2017, about 1130 local time, a Quicksilver Aircraft GT-500, registration 9M-EAC, was destroyed after colliding with a river shortly after takeoff from Sungai Rambai Aerodrome, Melaka, Malaysia. The airplane was operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Malaysia. The pilot was fatally injured, and the passenger sustained serious injuries.The Ministry of Transport Malaysia - Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane, the NTSB has designated a US accredited representative to assist the AAIB in its investigation.
