On October 17, 2017, about 1540 universal coordinated time, an amphibious Cessna 208, Brazilian registration PR-MPE, was substantially damaged after it came to rest inverted while attempting to land on a river in Novo Airao county, State of Amazonas, Brazil. The foreign certificated pilot and three passengers received minor injuries and one passenger was fatally injured. The flight was conducted under Brazilian flight regulations and departed from Manaus/Eduardo Gomes International Airport (SBEG), Manaus, Brazil.The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center of Brazil.
