On August 2, 2017, at 0740 local time, a Robinson R22, VH-HGU, was destroyed by a post-impact fire following a collision with power lines during cruise flight near Cloncurry Aerodrome, Australia. The helicopter was operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Australia. The pilot was fatally injured.
