Full Narrative
On June 1, 2017, at 1824 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA-24-140, Guatemalan registration TG-GYV, owned by a private individual, was destroyed when it impacted mountainous terrain under unknown circumstances near Volcán de Agua, Departamento de Sacatepéquez, Guatemala. The instructor pilot was fatally injured and the extent of the student pilot's injuries are unknown. The flight originated from San José, Guatemala, with a destination of Cuidad, Guatemala.The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Guatemalan government.
