On October 16, 2016, at 1937 universal time coordinated, a Piper PA-23-250 twin-engine airplane, Peruvian registration OB-2039, was not damaged during a precautionary landing to the Jaime Montreuil M. Airport (CHM), Chimbote, Peru. According to Peruvian officials, the left engine experienced a loss of manifold pressure and an increase in oil temperature while en route from the Captain Carlos Martinez De Pinillos/Trujillo International Airport (TRU), Trujillo, Peru, to the Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), Callao, Peru. The pilot shut down the left engine in flight, declared an emergency, and landed without further incident at CHM. The pilot and the passenger were not injured.The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Peruvian Government. Any further information pertaining to the accident can be obtained from:
