On September 1, 2016, about 1905 coordinated universal time, a privately owned and operated Air Tractor AT-502B, Brazilian registration PR-SLV, experienced an in-flight loss of control and impacted terrain near Sorriso Municipality, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The airplane was destroyed by impact and a postcrash fire, and the pilot and passenger were fatally injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed for the local flight.The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Brazil.
