Full Narrative

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) of India has notified the NTSB of an incident involving a Jet Airways Boeing 737, which occurred on March 3, 2016. The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the Air Accident Investigation Bureau investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.

During landing on runway 27 at Mumbai, the cockpit crew heard a thud sound and the aircraft started turning towards the right. During the investigation it was observed that the trunnion pin sheared off during the landing roll.

All investigative information will be released by the AAIB.
