Full Narrative
During a post-flight inspection of a Fairchild SA227-AT, Registration Number VH-UZI, powered by two TPE331-11U-611G Honeywell Turbine engines, evidence of a fuel leak was detected on the left-hand engine. Further investigation revealed a fire on the left-hand engine.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating the incident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane and engines, the NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on Civil Aviation to assist the ATSB in their investigation.
