On February 12, 2015, a Bell 206L-4 powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C30P turboshaft engine experienced an uncontained engine failure followed by a successful force landing. This incident is being investigated by the South Africa Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the NTSB is participating as the United States Accredited Representative to the South African CAA as the State of Manufacturer of the engine.
