Full Narrative
On April 29, 2014 at about 1:28 UTC, An operator of a B737-476 was landing at East Midland Airport, UK from a flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, France. The aircraft was completing its landing roll and was on auto-brake with the thrust reversers just stowed. The Captain applied the brakes in manual to come out of auto-brake at which point there was a loud bang. The aircraft sank downwards to the left and carried on travelling along the runway gradually veering off the centre line and after about 130 metres came to a stop. The emergency services attended the aircraft and the crew of 2 vacated the aircraft without further incident. There were no injuries. The aircraft ended up resting on its left engine nacelle and right main landing gear. The nose gear was off the ground.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is investigating the incident. The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention of Civil Aviation to assist the AAIB's investigation as the state of manufacturer of the airplane.
