On Novenber 11, 2013, at 1245 coordinated universal time (1345 LMT), a BEKAS 1-A glider, registered SP-8017, owned and piloted by the accident pilot, was destroyed when it impacted terrain during a tow operation near Airfield Turbia (EPST), Stalowa Wola, Poland. The pilot was fatally injured.
