Incident Narrative
An employee was cutting felled trees into smaller logs using a chainsaw. A cut log rolled toward him and made contact with the saw's chain brake, applying pressure onto the brake that applied pressure onto his left middle finger that was holding the chainsaw handle. The employee retracted his left hand, resulting in amputation of approximately 1 cm of his left middle fingertip. The employee was hospitalized and his fingertip was reattached.
