Employees were responding to power outages caused by a storm. The injured employee was surveying the damage near an area where power lines were suspected to be down. An adjacent tree fell and struck the injured employee. He sustained internal and crushing injuries, including liver bruising and internal bleeding. He also sustained a broken arm and required surgery.
