An employee and another crew member were installing the head section of a dock in shallow water. The crew member was holding the front of the section and the employee was holding the back. As they slid and lowered the dock section into place onto stanchions, the employee's little finger was crushed between the stanchion and the dock section, resulting in a fingertip amputation.
