Incident Narrative
On May 7, 2025, at 2:52 PM, an employee was walking on the catwalk (approximately 14" wide grating) in front of the cab of a lattice boom crawler crane. As he was crossing over to climb down from the crane, he missed the grabrail and lost balance. He began falling and did not want to hit the track so he pushed his feet backward, to land on unobstructed ground. The employee was hospitalized with a fracture to his L4 vertebra.
