An new employee was participating in an on-the-job training. The employee was demonstrating a defensive knee strike tactic when he suffered a left ankle injury. As he was pivoting to sprint backward as part of the simulated disengagement drill, his left ankle rolled and he sustained a torn Achilles tendon that required surgery.
