An employee placed 6-inch wooden planks over metal trusses to establish a walking/working surface. The employee lost his footing, fell off a plank, and struck the metal deck. He went through the metal deck and landed on the ground approximately 10 feet below. The employee sustained a right elbow contusion and a bruised kidney. The employee was hospitalized.
