A registered nurse was taking care of a patient, checking his blood pressure and vitals. The patient jumped off his bed and punched the employee in the face, knocking her to the ground. The patient continued punching the employee in the face, and she was rendered unconscious. The employee sustained injuries to bone and soft tissue on both sides of her face, comminuted fractures to nasal bone(s), and a fractured right clavicle.
