An employee was using a plasma cutter to cut the lid off an empty metal 55-gallon drum that previously held automobile oil. The drum exploded and struck the employee's face knocking them to the ground. The employee sustained concussion symptoms and lacerations that required stitches to their face. The employee was hospitalized.
