An employee was onboard a tender vessel to remove debris from the cutterhead (a drill bit 7-feet in diameter). The tender vessel was placed against the cutterhead. During debris removal the employee retrieved a saw to cut some rope and as he stepped forward to assist, his right foot was crushed between the cutterhead and vessel deck due to rising sea action. Three digits on his right foot were amputated.
