An employee was on a ladder to reach the access door to the blower of the air handler in the stock room. He was holding the bottom edge of the door with his left hand, and his thumb was gripping the inside of the panel. The motor for the unit turned on and the suction force caused the door to shut, partially amputating his left thumb tip.
