An employee and an excavator operator were investigating a potential hydraulic leak on one of the hoses on the arm of the machine. As the operator went to position the arm of the excavator for the employee to have a closer look, the employee's left leg was pinched between the excavator arm and a coil of steel. The employee's leg was broken.
