A driver was making a lumber delivery to a customer. He removed a tarp from the trailer, then took a step backward in the loading area and fell into an open hole with concrete blocks inside of it. He landed on his left leg and then fell onto his right side. The employee was hospitalized with a fractured left tibia/fibula and required surgery.
