Incident Narrative
An employee was setting up an adjustment operation on a brake press machine and adjusting post-heat treat parts. After loading a part, a collision of the tool and part occurred, causing metal shrapnel to puncture the employee's upper left chest. The employee sustained a collapsed lung and a laceration to the right index finger as well as other injuries to the torso. The employee was hospitalized.
