An employee was assembling a ripper conveyor chain. A chain consists of treads and an overhead crane is utilized to connect treads together. While placing a link in the chain assembly, a tread slipped and caught/pinched the employee s left hand/middle finger. They suffered a partial finger amputation without bone loss.
