Incident Narrative

An employee climbed up on an elevated sidewalk and stepped onto a dumpster to push a piece of scrap steel into the dumpster. He lost balance and fell about 5.5 feet onto the asphalt road surface. The piece of scrap steel then fell on top of him. The employee sustained a head injury including a laceration, a fractured sternum, and a fractured left wrist.
