Incident Narrative
An employee was on the second floor of an apartment construction site. He walked out onto the balcony/patio to hold a safety meeting and grabbed the temporary hand/safety rail. The rail broke, causing the employee to fall to the ground. The employee sustained fractures to the thoracic vertebrae and ribs as well as a partially collapsed lung. The employee's right wrist and shoulder were also strained.
