An employee was operating a variable reach forklift to transport an 8" x 8" x 14' timber at a jobsite. The right-side tires entered the grass shoulder at the edge of the road, and the forklift tipped over a three-foot rock dike. The employee sustained a fractured T11 vertebra, and possible fractures to four ribs.
