Incident Narrative
An employee was working at a dry dock, holding the safety latch of a crane hook open by lifting it while two other employees placed a lifting bridle on the crane hook. The hook was rotated to receive the bridle, causing the employee's right index fingertip to be caught between the hook latch and the crane block face/shell. He suffered an open fracture with partial amputation of the last joint of the finger.
