An employee was using a remote-operated overhead crane to move a suspended load of billets from the floor to the loading table of his grinder. After reaching the loading table, the employee used his right hand to guide the suspended load. The load shifted, crushing his hand between the chain on the crane and the load of metal bars. The employee's right ring fingertip was crushed, resulting in a partial amputation.
