Incident Narrative

A group of telecommunication workers were installing fiberoptic underground lines at a manhole. At approximately 10:15 PM, a vehicle struck the back of an illuminated police detail vehicle and continued though the delineated work zone, striking an employee. The employee was hospitalized with severe injuries to his lower extremities, and his left leg was amputated below the knee.
