Incident Narrative

An employee was connecting power cables/cords on the floor of a rig. The employee was partially standing on the bat door when it activated, causing the employee to fall approximately 30 feet to the ground and sustain eight fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and bruising to the kidney, liver, and spleen.
