Incident Narrative
An employee was in the process of rigging up equipment. While releasing ratchet straps with his right hand, the employee was supporting himself by placing his left hand on a gusset in the mast. As the second ratchet strap was released, the tong counterweight shifted and slid down about one foot, pinching the employee's fingers between the counterweight and the gusset and resulting in several broken fingers.
