Incident Narrative
On January 13, 2022, an automobile was driven onto a four-post lift to raise the automobile in the air. A service technician engaged the Swing Air Jack in order to elevate the rear tires of the automobile above and off the lift. When the employee engaged the hydraulics to raise the automobile with the Swing Air Jack, the Swing Air Jack unexpectedly released horizontally and toward the employee who was struck in the face. The employee was rendered unconscious and was hospitalized for a concussion, brain bleed, and broken facial bones.
