An employee was working on a small-bore lathe. He put an extension on the lathe. Then, noticing that the tube and the lathe seemed to be off-center, he reached in and tried to correct the issue. The tube caught his cut-resistant glove, pulled in his left index finger, and amputated part of it. The machine was unguarded at the time.
