Incident Narrative

An employee was in a bucket working on a set of powerlines when he had to reposition his bucket truck. The knuckle of the boom truck hit a tree branch, which put the boom under tension. When the employee moved forward, the bucket jerked free from the branch, causing him to fall 15 feet from bucket to the ground and resulting in a broken L1 vertebra that required surgery.
