An employee went up to a catwalk between a semi trailer and a semi cab to diagnose an issue with an electric tarp failing to close. The spring loaded arm uncoupled and released, and the employee was thrown to the ground. The employee suffered fractures to an upper-back vertebra, ribs, a wrist, and a collarbone.
