Incident Narrative

An employee was working in a basement, keeping the area secure while other employees drilled down from the floor above. The concrete core drilled out from the floor above fell down, struck the rim of the core-catching bucket, then fell about 15 feet further, striking the employee's hardhat and then the back of his head and neck. He suffered a laceration to the back of the head and a ruptured cervical disk.
