Incident Narrative

An employee was disconnecting a hose from a portable transfer pump when residual sulfuric acid sprayed out of the hose and contacted the employee, resulting in chemical burns to both legs from the thighs to below the knees that required hospitalization. Personal protective equipment was worn at the time of the incident.
