Incident Narrative
An employee had been hauling and disposing of lime kiln filters while wearing dust goggles, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and a blue medical mask. About one to two hours after the process was completed the employee noticed irritation in his mouth and throat. The employee was hospitalized with irritation of the upper respiratory tract due to lime dust.
