Incident Narrative
An employee was setting up a brush making machine. The drill stuck in the table. When the employee grabbed the drill shroud, the drill bit came free and stored energy in the drill spindle arm cause the drill shroud to rise quickly. The employee's left middle fingertip was compressed between the drill shroud and the base of the drill spindle housing. The fingertip was amputated.
