Incident Narrative
A temporary employee was guiding the mult coil (over 2000 lbs.) that was being placed onto the uncoiler machine with a crane. The employee was standing behind the mult coil while the crane operator maneuvered to position the load onto the uncoiler machine. The crane operator was not able to position the mult coil onto the uncoiler machine so it was placed back on the ground. It was unbalanced and fell. The employee was struck by the mult coil and fell to the ground. In the process the employee's right hand was caught between the mult coil and uncoiler machine and crushed. The employee was hospitalized for surgery.
