An employee was carrying an electric motor that weighed 35lbs. and had to use four sets of stairs to reach the area where the motor was to be installed. After coming down the third set of steps, he was on a flat surface when he tripped over an air wand hose that was on the ground. The motor he was carrying came down on his right ring finger, causing an amputation of the soft tissue of the right ring fingertip.
