Incident Narrative
An employee was picking up trash on a route and operating the levers that put the sweep blade into motion to sweep recycling materials into the body of the rear-load truck. The sweep blade knocked some of the material out of the hopper. The employee was pushing material back into the hopper when his left hand was caught by the sweep blade. The thumb on his left hand was pinched and broken.
