Incident Narrative
An employee was showing another contractor an upcoming scaffolding job on the outside of an electrical substation. He was standing outside the barrier for a 15-kilovolt rectifier when his pants zipper came in contact with the barrier. Electricity arced from the rectifier to his right arm and then grounded to his zipper, causing electrical burns to his right upper body and pelvic region.
