Incident Narrative

Two employees were opening the top hatch on sulfur rail cars to vent them when the employees were overcome by hydrogen sulfide gas. They were both hospitalized. The first employee suffered pulmonary edema (chemical) and the second employee suffered hemorrhaging in the eyes due to breathing stress.
