An employee was manually tying a cable on an automatic cut line that was malfunctioning. When the machine unjammed, it began operating while the employee's hand was in a pinch point area. The employee suffered a laceration from the middle of the middle and ring fingers down to the wrist on his left arm and was hospitalized.
