Incident Narrative

An employee was shutting a truck trailer gate while standing on the edge of the trailer. When the door was halfway down, the employee jumped down to the ground while still pulling the trailer gate with his right hand. His left hand rested on the trailer floor directly under the trailer gate, which came down on his hand, amputating the tip of his left ring finger.
