An employee conducted a claims adjustment inspection on the roof of a 10-foot shed and was attempting to descend a ladder from the roof when the employee slipped off the ladder and fell 10 feet to the ground. The employee was hospitalized with a broken shoulder, three broken ribs, punctured lungs, a pulmonary embolism, and cracked thoracic vertebrae.
