Incident Narrative

An employee was in the process of unclogging a drain valve on a paper machine stock refiner when the pulp material inside the valve sprayed out. The temperature of the pulp material was approximately 140 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The employee sustained second degree burns to his left hand.
